Google Earth Disney

Ever play around with the 3D section of Google Earth? If not, you definitely should. Going around the world and seeing 3D models of The pyramids, Eiffel Tower, etc. is really neat. Besides just those famous landmarks, you can also see parts of Disneyland in 3D as well. What's really cool right now is that they still have some stuff up from the old DCA that is mixed with the new photos of construction, so it gives you a real sense of what was there in comparison of what will be there. Take a look..

This is what I was talking about. The old letters that once welcomed visitors is now in the heart of construction where the new Pan Pacific style Entrance will go.
and I love how they took the time to do this for World of Color. Next upgrade the fountains should...y'know...actually have color.

SKIM

Here's some promised footage of the skimboarding from the weekend. Major props to my bro Preston for making his version, since mine wasn't liked by the copywrite nazis of youtube. Go to his page, leave a comment, subscribe and all that stuff, because he makes some pretty cool stuff. Hope you enjoy this one!

10 Things From 10 Followers - Number One

Here's the first Video from the list of 10 Things I have to Do! Hope you enjoy. :)

New House Project

Ok, some of you were wondering what I meant by my facebook status and tweet earlier. Well, to explain:

I've lived at the same location my entire life, but we bought a new house two doors down from the house I grew up in. The house between my current house, and old house is being fixed up, and since I know everyone around here, they're letting me live in it, so I can "further my independence" or something like that. Living a house a way from my parents isn't really that independent, but hey, I get a house all to myself, I'll take it.

So, since no one's lived in it for like, ever, and considering it's been used as a storage house for some years now, we have A LOT to clean up and fix, but I'm excited about this project. So, this is what it looks like now:

 The front.
the back. The roof was recently re-done.
 bedroom.
 living room. currently the gym.
 laundry 'room'.
kitchen area.

It looks terrible right now, and I can almost understand if you think this is a demo for the upcoming season of Hoarders, but its not. Now I've got a new project to take under my wing. This is going to be a lot of fun to turn into the super rad bachelor pad that I'm imagining it to be.

And a final note:
this is why I'm not at Disneyland a lot this year. Have to work on projects like this before I can really kick it at the parks with everyone like I did last year. I WILL be there Late July/ Early August, but after that, it's unknown.

10 followers, 10 things.

Ok because I'm so close to 10,000 tweets, I want to celebrate. I have 8 so far, so I only need two more. But the first ten followers to give me an idea of something to do with 10, I'll do, and post on video. Keep it clean, an pg-rated. So far I have:

1. @mainstreetjake Tweet 10 facts about yourself?
2. @mainstreetjake tweet your top 10 followers lol
3. @mainstreetjake Walk around your local mall and sing its a small world 10 times as loud as you can
4. @mainstreetjake dedicate your 10,000th to me.
5. @mainstreetjake Name your top ten favorite Pixar movies. Or top ten Disney rides/attractions.
6. @mainstreetjake eat 10 cheeseburgers? :)
7. @mainstreetjake 10 sets of 100 jump rope reps.
8. @mainstreetjake convince ten strangers to form a conga line?
9. @mainstreetjake watch the movie 10 with 10 of your guy friends? (I'm a child of the 70's)
10. @mainstreetjake red bull bombs!
There is two more spots! Be creative!

EDIT: one more spot!

DOUBLE EDIT: SPOTS ARE FILLED! I'll be filming all 10 of these this week, and will post them ASAP! Hope you enjoy this!

Goofy's Sky School - Explained

Well, the 'new' attraction has just now started soft testing to the public, and by the public I mean pASSholders, Disney site guys, and the tourists from Japan and Idaho. I'm not in any of these categories really, considering my blog is about my life and what I'm into, which happens to be a lot of things, but with this, I'm going to try to shut up as many complaints about this new ride as possible.

See, the thing is with this ride is that it's something that can be anywhere. And with that, it's understandable that people would expect Disney to put in something better than an attraction that can be found at a Six Flags, AND the Texas State Fair. However, with all the previous mistakes that WAS DCA 1.0, this is definitely better than what we used to have.

Some have said they should have taken it out just like they did the Maliboomer. But people don't realize that with a BILLION dollars, spread out all over the park, some things just don't get as much love as other areas will get. This COULD be a bad thing, but the fact is, the majority of money is put where the majority of the park is needed help with the most. Overall, the park NEEDS a new entrance. Spend a lot of money there to make it look like 1920's Los Angeles. The park NEEDS a new big land to anchor the park. Spend a lot of money there to create the desert region of south California/Arizona for CarsLand. The park NEEDS a big dark ride to rival Disneyland's model of original dark ride attractions. Spend A TON of money sending guests underwater for a fish party. Same goes for the night time spectacular World of Color, and Midway Mania.

So where does the rest of the money go? Smaller projects. Things like the restaurant revamp for Paradise Pier. The games revamp. Goofy's Sky School, and Silly Symphony Swings. Attractions and stores that essentially ONLY need a skin graph compared to the organ transplant the rest of the park is getting.

With Goofy's Sky School, all they did was re-paint the track, re-skin the cars, re-tarp the queue, re-design the Fastpass booths, add a new water tower as the queue entrance, and 2D animations throughout the attraction. Sure, it's not much, but with the execution of what they did, I think they did great, and if any imagineers read this that worked on the attraction, thanks for all your hard work on the attraction, it looks great, despite what others complain  say.

So now to answer what some are complaining about:

"Why is there a Chicken Farm on Paradise Pier?"

Why is there a band concert with a tornado on a pier? Why is there a lagoon that explodes in color at night in a lagoon? Reality doesn't have lagoons exploding with color. This is all fun and fantasy people. Let your minds rest and stop over analyzing. Here's the simple answer to the otherwise retarded question: There's a chicken farm in Paradise Pier, because it sits next to two restaurants. Eggs and chickens have to come from somewhere, right? Why not put a chicken farm next to a restaurant that y'know...serves things made with chicken and eggs?

"Why is there a Plane School on a Pier?"

Ever travel to the central coast? There's tiny little airstrips literally right next to the beach.

"This looks nothing like the concept art that I liked."

No duh. Concept art is just that. CONCEPT. Meaning its a thoughtful option. Silly Symphony Swings turned out nothing like what we got in the concept art, and World of Color has scenes in the concept art that isn't in the show. Things change all the time. There's always going to be things that are in or not in the art that will or won't become reality.

People should really stop being so overly critical of small attractions and the changes Disney makes. They know what they're doing. Shut up and let them work play in the park and do what Walt always said: "Disneyland (changing it here, because of so many other Disney parks) and my other parks will never be completed as long as there's imagination left in the world."

Crazy Weekend

So Friday my bro Casey (who's now on twitter ) and his wife were in LA for Beach Body's (fitness/health company) Summit Event that goes on annually. They crashed at the man cave Wednesday night before driving down, but we decided to drive down Friday to have dinner with them. If there's any chance to get out of this hellish valley, my family takes it. Anyways, we all run down there for dinner and have a great time. I'll let the photos do the talking for now..

We wonder why America is fat...
 L.A..baby...
 Go team!
L.A actually has some really rad urban art. Just gotta look for it.
 Man's three favorite things.
 I love this town.

And some highlights of the night.

Super Soaked

Here's a little teaser trailer of a potential project I might work on this summer. I shot this last night with my friends, so it was kind of spur of the moment, but it was a lot of fun!
Let me know what you think. Leave a comment on youtube or here..if you want to see more, like the video! Enjoy.

Speed. I am speed.

Past two days have been insane. I've been driving all over town filling out job applications before and after class. Yesterday I went to the following:
Roadhouse Grill
Mimi's cafe
Chili's
Sports chalet
Chick fil-a
Jamba juice
And barnes and noble.
Here's hoping I get something from one of these.

And I usually don't brag about stuff like this, or in general, but I totally scared my mom thinking I was going to be late to class today, considering I stopped by a friend's place for a bit before class, and I still had to go to the bank and vet office before class (they're both closed after I get out of class). Well..I got to Taft, ran those errands for her, and got to campus with 25 minutes to spare.
Whoop...teacher's here. Later!

FoamTard Truck Complaint

Apparently some people are upset about this video of Disneyland before opening showing a truck driving through Frontierland/New Orleans Square.

They're saying its 'bad show', and how 'Walt would have been enraged' etc. They really have no leg to stand on, considering a few things.
1) This is before park hours, and before any guests step into the park. Trucks, pressure washers, cherry pickers, and the like are going to be all over the place at any given time. This is all basically the 'stage preparation' for the guests.
2) Disney has deliberately filmed, and posted videos of in the park, before/after hours of how things work. I don't see how this is any different.
3) Editing a moving truck out of six seconds of film time? People, really? The Disney film dept. that does stuff like this isn't ILM. They're not gonna waste a day of cutting that out.
4) The members on "another site" are very hypocritical. One day they're complaining about a duck video having a truck in the background, but another praise the one that gives light to how the autopia cars are filled up, and how they rotate plants during the third shift (for those that don't know, third shift is commonly known as the after hours, or night crew that work to get the park looking good before guests arrive).
5) Did they forget that a while ago...Disney allowed a news team to come in, and interview third shift employees, and show some of the secrets of how tricks work on Indiana Jones Adventure?

They ate that video up and loved it. But not the one of a truck driving through the park. Go figure, right?

It's funny to me how people find the stupidest things to complain about. Sure, one could argue, much like this person mentioned on "another site" how Walt would have been enraged at the site of his guests seeing a truck inside the park like that. It IS SOMEWHAT understandable. However, with the high speed access to anything, and being able to take a quick video or photo on the spot, post it to the WORLD wide web, and have millions view it instantly, things are inevitably going to slip. Just look at the stuff thats been leaked before showtime. MiceChat actually gave us all hi-res photos of Star Tours before opening. Other times we've gotten mere pixelated images of items backstage. The thing is, Disney knew that the truck was in there while this film was in the editing bay. They chose to leave it in there to probably show people "yea, this is before hours. That is a GMC pickup driving where thousands of you walk daily."

But who are we kidding? Foamers gonna foam, right?

Boy 33 Weekly Leaderboard

From the desk of Boy33 in some area of Southern California:

Hey everyone. Sorry about the lack of a Leaderboard last week. Things got crazy and, well, ok I just forgot. But I hope you all are still enjoying the game. The questions are still obviously way easier for you to solve than they are for me to come up with, so bear with me on that.

In any case, here’s how we stand as of this morning at 8am. I’ll repeat that it’s still anyone’s game. Just be on it and know your stuff. And you can win!33TO33

But this Friday night...

It's really nice when you get alone time. I just spent time out on my back patio listening to the bug zapper, and some neighbor's mariachi party music down the road.

Its reall-yep just heard a coyote-anyways, its really nice to just unplug for a bit and enjoy the surroundings you're in. Granted some clever people reading this might laugh at me for talking about unplugging from technology, seeing that I'm posting this from my iPhone, still out on the back patio. But after this, my phone's going on silent and I'm kicking back to enjoy the Friday night.

Crazy day

After a whirlwind afternoon, I'm finally back home. Now to relax..kinda. Still have some transportation logs to input. Then I can chill and watch my redboxed films (true grit and just go with it).

Last night I actually cooked. Well, today's Friday so screw that concept. It's digiorno pizza with an awesome dessert tonight.

Hey @westcoasternet and @Lucas_j, does that ice cream look good or what? ;) lol

One of the few pet peeves of living in the country. Tractors and tractor equipment on the roads. They are so bloody slow!

College

Family tradition. First day of school, take a photo in front of this tree. Why, I don't know, but it's fun.

Whoo!

hehe, first day on campus and I'm the mayor on Formspring.

Seriously. I-5 sucks going southbound. One lane, and trucks that drive slow.

First day of college, I get home, and my high school diploma was in my mailbox.

I've been meaning to write about this since Tuesday. I started my first college class Tuesday out at Taft College, and I like it so far! I mean, it's not full blown college yet, but it's a start. I'm just stoked to be out of high school. First thing my teacher said in class was: "Everything is on you. I'm here to get paid, and tell you what to study. Not when to study, or how much to study. This is all you." I really loved hearing that. I liked the guidance the teachers gave in high school, but I also love the free independence of study with college. As long as I get it done before the date, it's fine.

I'm really excited about this next step in life. It's going to be a lot of fun, and I can't wait to see how the rest of this year goes with all of it.

Street Rat, I Don't Buy That.

You think your life sucks? Stuck in traffic, spilled coffee, bad day at school? That PALES in comparison to this kid. Here's hoping this kid goes somewhere in this world after this. I was definitely blown away, and I have no idea what he was actually singing. One of the purest voices in the world.

Kiss that mermaid, and you're sure to drown

It's 2:00am. I'm laying on
My bed in sheer surprise that one of my best friends kissed my ex from last summer Friday night at the pirates party I had. Usually I don't care about stuff like this. I didn't even know it happened until I was forwarded messages about it.

From the looks of it, this guy is trying to get at me somehow. Jealous, mad, proving a point, whatever. I don't care. She's an ex. That's what she will remain.

Reason I'm writing this is that this is nothing more than going to add to my script. I just thought the age old saying applied. Bros before hoes.

Apparently not.

Pirates Marathon

Over the weekend I got to host a party at my place with a lot of friends. Nothing big, just hanging out watching all three of the Pirates films. It was actually more fun than I had thought it would be. The party was super laid back, and there wasn't any direct order the day went. We watched the films, and my dad (who happens to be a phenomenal grill master) cooked up burgers for everyone.

Side note, I really can't thank my parents enough for helping with this. Mom did the grocery shopping, dad grilled, and we all helped clean up after. They really were awesome to help out.

Here's some photos from the day:
 What's a party without ZooPals?
Had to pick up Brooke and Emily. They're a fan of photos.
Girls reading wedding magazines and stuff..
 :D

 Panorama shot of the group!

This may or may not have been my second starbucks of the day. I may or may not be addicted.
See? The ZooPals are chick approved!

 Dinnah!
Okay, all 20-something of you...squeeze into the kitchen!
 It works...

Yep. Still a fan of photos.

 Someone's got a birthday!
This girl! Hey! She posed for a photo! Win.

This guy...yea he may be my best friend...but he scares me with caffeine.
This is what I get for them stealing my phone. They won't let ME take a photo, but they'll take one themselves.
 Emmie Rose.
 Me and 7-11.
Mermaids and...wait what was it about?  I was distracted by mermaids.
We were the last ones in the theater that night!
And...more people came back to the house to play poker until the wee morning hours. Don't trip, we play for chips.

Yea..I meant for that to rhyme. I really did.

I think the next time we do something like this...we're gonna party with Transformers. Maybe. We'll see.

Donate a buck or two!
