View On Homosexuality

Ok, recently I've had a debate with someone on my Formspring (http://www.formspring.me/mainstreetjake ) over views on homosexuality. Now, at first I was only joking around, thinking it was just someone being funny. Well, now that views are conflicting, and a heated debate has ensued, I thought this would be the best way to post ALL of what I want to say, so I don't have to compress it all into short messages. These are my personal beliefs, and you can take them for what they're worth.
Now, first off, I do believe that homosexuality is a choice, rather than something that's natural. My theory is, is that there's instances where babies are born, and they have both X and Y chromosomes. If this happens, the some guys are then, naturally having a "softer" side to them, and for girls, sometimes a manlier side. But, there are people who aren't "gay" because of this. How could being gay be naturally traited in a human? If it was, then wouldn't God have made Adam and Steve, and not Adam and Eve? In the beginning, God created Adam and Eve, and from there, an attraction to the opposite sex.

The person debating this against me wanted me to watch segments on youtube about this topic, and I did. But there was one story in the video that proves my point. A man was raised in church, and when he was in late Jr. High, his friends got a hold of a Playboy. Apparently, the images did nothing for him. So, he assumed that something was "wrong" with him. From here, he had to choose to either figure out what's "wrong" or act on it, and say "I'm gay. Those images didn't do anything for me, so I'm gay." So, from that, being gay is an action.

The person said I couldn't have gay friends, and have the beliefs I have. Well, yes, in fact I can. I may not agree with their lifestyle, however, I do have gay friends, and I don't judge them. It's their life, not mine. I'm always here to talk about my beliefs, and opinions, and I'm not going to force them upon a person, if they don't force theirs on mine.

After this, I am done with this debate. If you wish to talk to me more about it, send me a e-mail, or message on Facebook. There is a link to my Facebook on the right side of the homepage. And here's my E-mail - jacobmatthew1992@aol.com
Hope everyone has a good day!

Late Night World of Color Testing

Decided to check the Mattercam on the HoJo hotel tonight....turns out they're testing for the WoC. Here's a screenshot of the fountains. You can't see much, but I think these are the blowpops being tested. These things go HIGH. To get what I mean, Mickey's Fun Wheel is 150 feet high, and these are at about 120-130 feet. It's crazy to see how high they go, and at that, see the color travel with the water that high!

World of Color

Gosh, I can't explain how excited I am to see this show. This new nighttime spectacular taking place in Disney's California Adventure's Paradise Bay, is going to pack the crowds in. The roughly 25 minute show is going to take viewers on basically, an emotional roller coaster. The show takes emotions, and portrays them through color. I've got some people who update me every so often with news on what's been tested recently, and how things work, and I have to say, this show technology-wise, is crazy!
A short summary of some cool stuff that's in the show:
- Projection Domes - waterproof white domes that rise up, and tilt 90 degrees, with projectors on the inside, allowing for circular objects like a jellyfish, or planet to come to life.
- Flame Whips - basically a flame thrower, with the ability to rotate in a 360 degree circle, and can tilt 55 degrees.
- Blow Pops - fountains that shoot 200 feet in the air.
- Butterfly fountains. - eight fountains, four on each side, rise and fall in a wing like motion.

And that's just some of it. There's also water chasers, water whips, water screens, lasers, LED's, and so much more. This show is going to be so visually stunning. And here's some photos from testing of the show, and a clip of testing the fountains. There's been no official opening date yet, but expect a late Spring opening. My guess is Mid April to early May. But just like the parks, it's always subject to change without notice.

The Saints Came Marching In

Well, that was an exciting game last night! I was really expecting the Colts to win, but the Saints proved me wrong. I'm glad the team won for the first time, especially after everything that town's been through. The game was fun to watch, but gosh, the half time performance by The Who was PHENOMENAL! I've gotta say, for those guys being so old, they've still got it in 'em! To see those guys still rock out on those songs was pretty awesome to see. Old guys rock, what can you say? Haha and that stage setup was really sweet. I loved the lights and pyro setup they used. The lights, even on TV was bright, and the designs, and fluidity of it all was just uber rad. And speaking of The Who, I've got a small theory: They used a well known rock band from Britain, to subliminally promote adding teams in England, and other European countries! So, who's the Half Time performance next year? Paul McCartney? The Scorpions? Guess we'll have to wait and see....

Super Bowl XLIV

Who's gonna win? The all favored Colts, or the under dog Saints? We'll find out tonight! I personally don't care, seeing that I'm a Denver Broncos fan. It'd be cool to see the Saints win for the first time, but then again, I really do like the way Peyton controls his team, and how good of a quarterback he always has been. It's going to be a great game either way. And then, of course, there's the always funny and witty Super Bowl commercials. From beer to insurance sales, shipping companies to chips and dip, they're gonna be great. Hopefully they run another Carl's Jr. Kardashian Salad commercial...speaking of which, that actually sounds good right now! ;-)

Christmas Time at the Resort

Christmas is back at the Resort again!! There's alot of new changes this year. First off, the christmas tree that sits inside Town Square is artificial. This is a great way for Disney to be "green", and be able to use it year after year, instead of cutting down a tree annually. Second, It's a Small World is back after a almost year-long refurb. The attraction has lighter, newer boats, a new flume, and new pumps. This has been the biggest refurb in it's history. There's a few new scenes, and, if you look hard enough, new characters. Now, once the Holidays are over, IASW will be closed for 6 weeks to take out all the holiday decorations, and to add the new Disney/Pixar characters just like the Hong Kong Disneyland sister attraction. Other additions are the always highly anticipated Haunted Mansion Holiday, and Woody's Holiday Round Up. Now, over to California Adventure. Santa's Beach Blast has not been announced to return. Apparently, no one care's to see Santa on vacation. The christmas tree will return to the Golden State Ampitheater as it has every year. Well, this about wraps it up for now. Keep on the lookout for my next post!

The Game

Hey sorry I haven't posted in a while. I've been really busy with football. Now that it's over, I can post more often. First off, I want to say thanks to Stephanie, Jennifer, Katelin, and Liz for coming out to the last game.Thursday night was the last game, and I got a few girls to come out and support us. I had alot of fun hearing them up in the stands. They got loud!!!! My mom taught them some old cheers from her high school days (many many MANY moons ago) and they cheered whenever we had a good play (which was rare). After the game, we went all went to Ihop afterwards and had even more fun. Steph got hyper, and starting singing with a hot sauce bottle. After that, we all headed home, and on the way, the girls somehow got ahold of the radio....they change the station like us guys channel surf! First rap, then hip hop, then jazz, then country, then back to rap! Haha I had alot of fun watching them sing to the songs. I got some of it on video, so enjoy!

Chicken Jokes

WHY DID THE CHICKEN CROSS THE ROAD?

SARAH PALIN: Before it got to the other side, I shot the chicken, cleaned and
dressed it, and had chicken burgers for lunch.

BARACK OBAMA: The chicken crossed the road because it was time for a change!
The chicken wanted change!

JOHN MC CAIN: My friends, that chicken crossed the road because he recognized
the need to engage in cooperation and dialogue with all the chickens on the
other side of the road.

HILLARY CLINTON: When I was First Lady, I personally helped that little chicken
to cross the road. This experience makes me uniquely
qualified to ensure right from Day One that every chicken in this country gets
the chance it deserves to cross the road. But then, this really isn't about me.

GEORGE W. BUSH We don't really care why the chicken crossed the road. We just
want to know if the chicken is on our side of the road, or not. The chicken is
either against us, or for us. There is no middle ground here.

DICK CHENEY: Where's my gun?

COLIN POWELL: Now to the left of the screen, you can clearly see the satellite
image of the chicken crossing the road.

BILL CLINTON: I did not cross the road with that chicken. What is your
definition of chicken?

AL GORE: I invented the chicken.

JOHN KERRY: Although I voted to let the chicken cross the road, I am now
against it! It was the wrong road to cross, and I was misled about the
chicken's intentions. I am not for it now and will remain against it.

AL SHARPTON: Why are all the chickens white? We need some black chickens.

DR. PHIL: The problem we have here is that this chicken doesn't realize that he
must first deal with the problem on this side of the road before it goes after
the problem on the other side of the road. What we need to do is help him
realize how stupid he's acting by not taking on his current problems before
adding new problems.

OPRAH: Well, I understand that the chicken is having problems, which is why he
wants to cross this road so bad. So instead of having the chicken learn from
his mistakes and take falls, which is a part of life, I'm going to give this
chicken a car so that he can just drive across the road and not live his life
like the rest of the chickens.

ANDERSON COOPER, CNN: We have reason to believe there is a chicken, but we have
not yet been allowed access to the other side of the road.

NANCY GRACE: That chicken crossed the road because he's guilty! You can see it
in his eyes and the way he walks.

PAT BUCHANAN: To steal the job of a decent, hardworking American.

MARTHA STEWART No one called me to warn me which way that chicken was going. I
had a standing order at the Farmer's Market to sell my eggs when the price
dropped to a certain level. No little bird gave me any insider information.

DR SEUSS Did the chicken cross the road? Did he cross it with a toad? Yes, the
chicken crossed the road, but why it crossed I've not been told.

ERNEST HEMINGWAY: To die in the rain, alone.

GRANDPA: In my day we didn't ask why the chicken crossed the road. Somebody
told us the chicken crossed the road, and that was good enough.

BARBARA WALTERS: Isn't that interesting? In a few moments, we will be
listening to the chicken tell, for the first time, the heart-warming story of
how it experienced a serious case of molting, and went on to accomplish its
lifelong dream of crossing the road.

ARISTOTLE: It is the nature of chickens to cross the road.

JOHN LENNON: Imagine all the chickens in the world crossing roads together, in
peace.

BILL GATES: I have just released /eChicken 2008/, which will not only cross
roads, but will lay eggs, file your important documents, and balance your
checkbook. Internet Explorer is an integral part of /eChicken 2008/. This new
platform is much more stable and will never crash or need to be rebooted.

ALBERT EINSTEIN: Did the chicken really cross the road, or did the road move
beneath the chicken?

COLONEL SANDERS: Did I miss one?

Blue Sky Cellar

Ok, for all of those who don't know, Disney's California Adventure just opened their "Blue Sky Cellar". This is a minor attraction which will showcase the upcoming attractions inside the park. They are now showing several drawings, models, and ideas for the first phase of the parks' $1.1 Billion dollar makeover. Such attractions that will debute are The Little Mermaid: Ariel's Adventure, Goofy's Flight School (rethemed Mulholland madness), CarsLand, and a new water show (The World of Color). I suggest checking out these links to Micechat. They have several pictures of the Cellar, and the new attractions! Leave a comment and tell me what you think!!

New Johnny Depp Films!!!!

Thanks to the guys who run the Mouse Guest Weekly podcast, news has been slowly leaking out that Johnny Depp will be working for Disney for the next few years. He is set to play in three new movies. The first, a remake of the all time Disney classic, "Alice in Wonderland". Tim Burton is directing, and Johnny is cast to play the Mad Hatter. The next is The Lone Ranger. Johnny is not playing the Lone Ranger, but Tonto, TLR's right hand man. And last but not least, Captain Jack is BACK! He is rumored to be coming back for the fourth installment of the Pirates franchise. No set date of the release has been confirmed, but it is rumored for summer 2011. Random Thoughts....

Ok, I'm now sitting here, at 6:35pm, pacific standard time, thinking about what i want to do with my life। I love doing alot of diferent things, which makes it hard to choose. I might be a movie director/producer/writer, something to do with movies. I really love working with video/audio, and making something that appeals to a large audience, with a good message. I think that you can be a christian, and make a movie with smoking/drinking. However, it's gotta be in the quality, not quantity. If a story calls for a drink to be shown, then I'd show it. Even though I'm not for drinking, I still think that if a movie has a bar scene in it, well, I'd still shoot it. I'm just ranting and raving about a boatload of stuff I've been thinking about. I'm also thinking about ministry. If God calls me into it, well, its up to him, I go where he tells me. I gotta go, I will finish this post later on.

Football BCHS vs Coast Union

Man, friday night lights is so much fun! We played against Coast Union, which really Suuuuucks. They will get better in time. Jv won 48-16, and Varsity won 48-14. The Frosh-soph got to play that night, because Coach Mac wanted a bigger team, not only to intimidate, but in case we got a huge lead early in the game, frosh-soph could gain experience by playing against a "JV" team. It was alot of fun, and the next game for F/S is in two weeks agains Wasco. That should be a great game as well, because Wasco has a program that filters the kids along, from Golden Empire youth league, all the way up to high school.
