A Word, Please? Number 3 - Alex Lucero

Here's my third interview with a MiceChatter known as Rage, and a tweeter known as Horrorshowfame.

Name: Alex Lucero

Age:23

Hometown:Northridge, CA

Favorite Disney Character:Peter Pan

Life motto: There’s no need to fret over the small things in life, there are people in this world who have it worst, so when you think you have it bad, think again.

Favorite Disney Ride? Haunted Mansion/Jungle Cruise

iPhone or Blackberry? iPhone

What’s something you do every day, without exception? As soon as I wake up, I pick up my phone to see if I have any missed text or phone calls.

$100,000. What do you do with it? Give most of it to my parents, put some aside to get a decent apartment, and spoil my friends.

If you had a 'celebrity hall pass' who would you pick? Mila Kunis. I would have also given this answer prior to Black Swan.

Favorite musician? Robb Flynn of Machine Head, he’s become my role model in life.

Best text you’ve ever gotten?
Alex:I just saw Betty White, why is Betty White across the street from this Slipknot event I’m at?”
Friend: “Maybe Betty white is into Slipknot.”

Mac or PC? PC

What do you think will happen in 2012? 2012 is the poor mans answer to Y2K.

You’re in charge of the Disneyland resort for a week: what do you do? I would mainly work on Tomorrowland. Start off with plans for the people mover track, freshen up the Innoventions building, maybe do a “Waters of Mars” ride where the Nemo Subs are. And if I have time bring some better food into the parks.

Best Disney Park? I would have to pick Disneyland since I grew up going to that park every year. I do enjoy Disney’s Hollywood Studios though, except for that horrific back lot tour, never has a ride made me more angry than that ride.

Favorite Disney ride? Umm, Jake... you asked me this already. How about favorite Walt Disney Ride? My favorite Walt Disney World ride would have to be The Great Movie Ride. I desperately want that ride over at California Adventure, I could tell the Cast Members would enjoy working on that ride.
(editors note: this is what I get for copying and pasting the questions over, while adding new questions. lol)
Favorite Johnny Depp movie? Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street. I could watch that movie all day.

Mickey D’s or BK? Neither, Buffalo Wild Wings. ;) If I HAD to choose then I would choose Mickey D’s for their crispy chicken nuggets.

Pizza: Chicago or New York style? New York style. Hollywood has some of the best New York style pizza in LA.

Best thing a girl's said to you? “ Hey. Are you DJ Rage?” My friend thinks your cute.” My old nickname back around 10 years ago was DJ Rage, and how some random girl at a bowling alley knew that was just shocking, but awesome at the same time.

Buddah or Jesus? Jesus since he has brought so much joy into my life.

coke or pepsi? Mexican Coke because of the real sugar.

Favorite Medical TV drama? House. Hugh Laurie is just incredible.

Favorite shoes? Vans. Heck, I’m wearing my lucky pair right now, and I don’t care if they have holes in the bottom, the are comfortable.

If you were to be a professional athlete, what sport do you want to be in? Football. It’s just a great team sport, and hey, you could get some aggression out while your playing.

Blond or Brunette? I’m a sucker for blonds.

What's your biggest fear? Flying in an airplane. Not because of terrorism, but because of engine failure or some other mechanical error.

Do you twitter? Occasionally. I’m trying to get back into it since it’s pretty informative.

Scaling These Walls

Finally got to go rock climbing today. Granted it was indoors, and not something totally death defying like scaling granite faces with merely cracks to work with, but none the less, I had a great time. I'm considering going once or twice a month to the gym in town and climbing. It's a great body workout. It's not repetitive like bench exercises, because you're pulling your own body weight. You have to lift, and strain yourself to get to the top. And trust me, over time, you get REALLY sore. But it's not a sore that makes you feel bad. It's a soreness that makes you feel like you've accomplished something awesome. I know after two hours of climbing, my forearms were really ready to just give out on me. Guess I need to get back to the wall more.

Catch and Release

 Surfing Magazine's new back-magazine section.
Girl in just a shirt. Heather Rose is nothing short of amazing.

Have you ever had those girls walk into your life that you know that they're nothing short of amazing? I'm talking the ones who's presence walks into the room well before they do? The ones that as soon as you gaze at them, your entire insides completely drop out, and you're left looking like a fish gasping for air. Yea, those girls.

I've had a few of those walk into my life.

I've dated a few of those girls.

And what happened? I messed things up.

I never cheated on them, but I got bored. Maybe it was just high school and learning how to deal with girls, but after 2 or 3 months, it was just blah. I wanted to start new and move onto a new girl. So I was a gentleman, or as much as I could be, backed out of the so-called relationship, and moved onto the next girl, or decided to fly solo and chill with my bros. Actually, some of the best memories I had of high school was ditching a bi-monthly 5th period photography class to run over to the gas station, buy some Arizona teas, and kick it in the back alley of the gas station playing card games with my friends or just standing around talking about surfing, movies, and girls.

Thing is, looking back at some of those girls, I wish I didn't let some of them go. There's one in particular that's a total beach babe. Sandy blond/red hair, Irish background. Cute smile, and an even more adorable laugh. One that makes you believe butterflies are born from that laugh. What happened? She got tired of me bouncing around the subject of being in a relationship with her. Tired of me playing the game.

What am I going to do about this? What can I finally do about the glory girls of high school? I'm a senior, with less than five months left before I move onto college. Now that's a new story. College. That's the pro's, right? No more minor leaguing with high school. College Girls. These girls are no longer really girls, but women. And women that know how to get a man's attention.

I guess I can fly solo until I get drafted to the pro's this fall.

Voting for Color

Alright all you people out here in the interweb, go and make use of your websurfing time, and vote for the best new theme park show. And by best new theme park show I mean World of Color.

Here's the link: Best New Theme Park Show

College and All That Stuff

So applying for college is pretty interesting. I drove up to the local college here in town and started applying to be a new student on campus, and had to already jump through hoops and start rounding all the bases to get ready for summer and the future fall classes. It's a new world. College. It can be four years of hard parties, cram sessions, and running around late to classes, or as I plan for it to be: low key, on time, full of studying, but enough time for a decent social life the way I want it (screw the parties, I'll have my fun just chilling with friends in the backyard by the fire pit with my coffee. On top of that, time to still blog and do some video/photography work on the side.

It's going to be a great four-plus years. I'm looking forward to getting my basics out of the way here in Hillbilly Hell, saving my money, getting a car and some new gadgets, and then transferring to a four-year school down in what I consider my personal glory land: Southern California. Despite the traffic, and apparent bad air (people give me a break. Bakersfield is ranked higher on the list of 'bad air' cities.), I love SoCal. It has some of the most diverse people, from all walks of life, and it's spread out. No one's on top of each other like Chicago or New York. The weather's great, food's amazing, and there's the Pacific Ocean.

Life's finally starting. As scary as it may be to start out on my own, it's starting.

Lights, Motion, and DJ's.

Kinect + Touch Designer DMX Light/Laser Control from Phil Reyneri on Vimeo.
Saw this video, and couldn't pass up a post about it. If you watch the video, you'll see what I mean, but these guys hacked a xBox Kinect, and with the motion capture that the Kinect does (that's it's job, afterall...just for video games), they can control lights and lasers! I mean, how cool is this?! As a young 18 year old, I haven't been to any clubs (save for GlowFest and ElecTRONica at California Adventure..but that's not really a full on 'club'), but I can only imagine the possibilities with something like this! Dancers controlling the lights and lasers means a 'show' that will never be the same!

Sunset and Light

I was in my front yard tonight getting some stuff out of the car, and thought the sunset was pretty enough to toy around with. So I grabbed my mom's new camera, and started messing with the ISO and shutter speeds. Both are shot at 3200 ISO, but the first is at a 1/4 second shutter speed, and the second is with 10 seconds. Amazing what light can do, right?

Cake Spinning

So apparently spinning cake batter in a bowl makes it spin out to the sides of the bowl, and IF fast enough, will fling OUT of the bowl, and around the kitchen. Yea folks, I was bored tonight. This is what I do when I'm single, bored, and have nothing better to do on Valentine's Day. I had my cake, and ate it too.

Love Is In The (H)air.

A good news source on twitter, Artimus just posted this pic, and it's going back to the good old days of Lion King, Aladdin, and Little Mermaid. Animated Movies and that hidden three letter word: Sex.
Gotta keep the tradition up, right?

The Grid Is Extended

So it was just released via the Disney Parks Blog, that the nighttime dance party inside California Adventure is extended. It's not until the originally announced April though. The grid's going farther now. How far? At least Labor Day.

All of the original stuff that started with ElecTRONica is going to be there, and I'm sure that Disney has some surprises to keep it consistently fresh for the summer and early fall. As a fanboy of the movies, I'd love to see a surprise Daft Punk performance, or at the least a hard ticket/contest entrance event with the Dance Club Duo DJ'ing the grid.

The grid is a digital frontier. The question is, how far does it go?

A Word, Please...Number 2

Alright, we're into our second interview here on the MSH, and who's our guest? None other than the level headed, common sense thinker of the fan sites, MyCroft16. He's actually one of my favorite posters on MiceChat because he actually thinks logically. Sure, they're going to do something with that flat wall behind the Carsland rockwork, and most certainly they're going to find a way to bring back the peoplemover, but how? MyCroft tends to have a really well thought out an logical reason for things, and he doesn't even work for the Mouse.

Favorite musician? Rush / Mozart

Best text you’ve ever gotten? "I can't believe you took your top off last night girl!" meant for a "Heather" sent from a "Steve" to me by accident.

Mac or PC? PC

What do you think will happen in 2012? Certainly not what many are predicting will happen.

You’re in charge of the Disney resort for a week: what do you do? Require everyone in the big yellow building to spend minimum of 5 hours a week in the park.

Best Disney Park? Disneyland... I mean Walt himself walked there. How do you top that?

Favorite Johnny Depp movie? Nightmare on Elm Street

The Office has invisible instruments!

My good friend Preston made this awhile back, and I had to post it...too clever.

My Jokes Were Born This Way....

Seriously....Lady Gaga just opened up a new can of worms on being 'born this way'. Can't wait for an SNL skit.

Donate a buck or two!
